Overview
From Digital Storefront to Beauty Destination
Saku Superstore was built around a simple proposition: make Korean and Japanese skincare more accessible to customers in Europe. Its digital storefront brought together curated skincare products, routines and educational content, while social media created an ongoing channel for discovery and engagement.
As the brand developed, that digital presence began extending into physical retail, with pop-up locations giving customers the opportunity to discover products in person.

The Challenge
Building Trust in a Crowded Beauty Market
Beauty customers face an overwhelming number of products and brands online. For an emerging retailer, the challenge is not simply to list products. It is to make discovery easier, communicate credibility and give customers a reason to choose the brand.

PRODUCT DISCOVERY
Help customers navigate a growing range of Korean and Japanese skincare.
BRAND TRUST
Create a consistent and credible digital presence.
CONTENT & EDUCATION
Make skincare discovery more engaging through useful content.
OMNICHANNEL GROWTH
Build a foundation that could extend beyond e-commerce into physical retail.
OUR APPROACH
Curate.
Educate.
Connect.
The experience was built around three principles: make products easier to discover, give customers useful reasons to engage, and create a brand presence that could grow beyond the online storefront.

E-COMMERCE
Create a clear shopping experience around product discovery.
Content
Use skincare education to build interest and confidence.
SOCIAL
Turn social platforms into ongoing discovery channels.
RETAIL
Create a digital foundation capable of supporting physical brand experiences.

E-COMMERCE EXPERIENCE
Designed Around Product Discovery
Google Ads and keyword targeting brought skincare searches to the storefront across the UK and Europe.
The Saku storefront was structured around how skincare customers actually shop by product type, skin needs and curated routines. Clear categories and bundled routines helped turn a large product catalogue into a more approachable shopping experience.

CONTENT EXPERIENCE
Content That Helps Customers Choose
Rather than relying solely on product listings, Saku’s content strategy created opportunities to educate customers around routines, ingredients and product selection making the shopping experience feel more useful and approachable.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Building Discovery Beyond the Storefront
Social media became an extension of the Saku shopping experience creating a space for product discovery, skincare education, promotions and community engagement.

RETAIL EXPANSION
Taking the Brand From Clicks to Kiosks
Saku’s growth extended beyond its online storefront into physical retail. In April 2025, the brand launched a pop-up at Trinity Leeds, offering Korean and Japanese skincare alongside in-person beauty advice and product recommendations.
SpaceandPeople later described Saku as an online-first brand moving into physical retail, including pop-up activity at major shopping destinations.

PARTNERSHIP
Growing With the Brand
Saku Superstore’s evolution demonstrates how a digital-first retail brand can use e-commerce, content and social media as foundations for broader customer experiences. As the brand continues to evolve, the digital ecosystem provides a platform that can adapt alongside new products, campaigns and retail opportunities.
The original Saku Superstore storefront is now being repositioned as the business prepares for its next chapter under Saku Skincare, with the existing website currently marked as under maintenance while the new brand develops.
“Morningstar became an extension of our marketing team, helping us connect strategy, execution and optimisation
